Dear experts, I have a Rosemount 3051 pressure transmitter. It indicates that its calibrated range is 0–200 kPa, while its maximum operating pressure is 0–0.207 MPa. What does this mean? I also have a broken pressure gauge whose range is 0–250 KPa. Can the range of this Rosemount transmitter be changed to match that?
207 kPa is likely its maximum allowable operating pressure; exceeding this value may damage the instrument.
The maximum operating pressure is the upper limit for the safe and normal operation of the instrument; neither the measurement range nor the device pressure may exceed this value. Whether it can be changed depends on your actual situation; it should be possible
The operating pressure of the instrument must not exceed the range of 0–0.207 MPa (0–207 KPa); exceeding this range may damage the instrument. Gauges with a range of 0–250 KPa do not fall within this range, so they cannot be used.

The original 3051 pressure transducer indicated that its calibration range was 0–200 kPa, with a maximum operating pressure of 0–0.207 MPa; this means that the pressure range of the medium being measured lies within 0–200 kPa, and the maximum pressure that the pressure transducer can handle is 0.207 MPa; The range of the replacement transmitter is 0–250 kPa, and the pressure variations of the medium being measured fall within this range; thus, it is not possible for the pressure to exceed the transmitter’s measurement capabilities ; On the other hand, the pressure range ratio of the 3051 model is 100:1; changing the upper limit of the range from 250 kPa to 200 kPa has no significant impact on measurement accuracy. Therefore, replacing it with a 3051 pressure transducer operating at 0–250 kPa is completely fine.

Indeed, when the original transmitter has a range of 0–250 kPa, the maximum pressure of the medium can reach 250 kPa; therefore, a transmitter with a range of 0–200 kPa cannot be used as a replacement. Its operating pressure is 0.207 MPa, which means that its sensor can withstand a maximum pressure of 0.207 MPa, or 207 kPa. Hence, it is not possible to change its range to 0–250 kPa in order to use it as a replacement.
