Dear experts, the thermocouples used in our company’s salt-incineration furnaces burn out every few months (it may also be due to corrosion). Do anyone have any successful experiences using them, or are there any manufacturers capable of producing thermocouples suitable for such operating conditions? PS: The temperature in the furnace is around 1200°C, and the medium is somewhat corrosive. I have used protective covers made of stainless steel, silicon carbide, and others in the past. Try using protective tubes made of stainless steel 2520. This austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel possesses excellent oxidation and corrosion resistance. Thanks to its high percentage of chromium and nickel, it has a much better creep strength, allowing it to function continuously at high temperatures; it also has good high-temperature resistance.
