At the site, the flow meter was mistakenly set as a V-cone flow meter instead of the correct type. Will this affect the measurement?

Quality issues are inevitable; it’s just a matter of probability. So, if it’s possible to avoid them in situations where serious accidents could occur, it’s best to do so.
1. Procedurally, it is definitely not possible to install it directly; if the owner orders the wrong product, they must submit a request for a design change. Only after the design institute issues the corresponding change documents can the construction party proceed with the work legally. Otherwise, in the event of an accident, they will be considered accomplices for not following the design specifications； It’s likely that the design institute won’t issue any changes in this case either ； 2. Technically speaking, V-cone flowmeters are not intrinsically safe due to the welding present inside them; and as a result of the accident in Dalian, CNPC has prohibited its regional companies from using V-cone flowmeters anymore ； At the same time, balance flow meters can enable two-way measurement; as for accuracy, it is sufficient for process measurement based on the Bernoulli pressure difference principle ； Therefore, as the construction party, one should not agree to the direct installation of a flow meter with incorrect settings.
For high voltage, it’s best not to use a V-cone; for low voltage, only V-cones that are customized according to the parameters you provide can be used as a substitute
