Liquid level measurement in closed hot water tanks

This post was last edited by tiandiyi*an on 2017-9-22 at 14:18. The company has installed a hot water tank (a closed-type hot water tank) that is used to supply hot water in the bathrooms. The diameter of this hot water tank is 8 meters and its height is 7.5 meters. I would like to ask for advice regarding level measurement. . A magnetic flap level gauge (0-7.5 meters) is to be used on-site, but the magnetic flaps tend to freeze in winter; therefore, it is desired to install a differential pressure transmitter on-site. How can this be done to achieve good measurement results?
A double-flange level gauge is used, with matching flanges installed at the top and bottom of the water tank. Generally, the silicone oil type can operate in winter temperatures as low as minus 15 degrees Celsius, while those designed for lower temperatures can function at minus 30 degrees Celsius. Under normal circumstances, such high requirements aren’t necessary; magnetic flap gauges are sufficient for these purposes, and it’s enough to pay attention to insulation
For level gauges using large floating balls, they can be installed on the side; if there is space at the top, a magnetostrictive level gauge can also be installed
What’s exposed outside will definitely freeze in winter!
If static pressure measurement is used, any of them will do; however, proper insulation and heating at the pressure-taking point at the root section are necessary. If you are looking to reduce costs, it is recommended to use a magnetic flap gauge combined with an external magnetostrictive level gauge – any type of externally mounted sensing device will work.
The pressure guide tube is bent downward; a tee is screwed onto it, two ounces of Erguotou liquor is poured in, a plug is screwed on, and the valve is opened again.
The exposed part of the hot water tank level gauge can be insulated.
For measuring the liquid level in a hot water tank, insulating the exposed parts should be fine, right?
