For the renovation of the on-site equipment, there is a glycerin storage tank; foam is used in this tank, and the operating temperature is below 300 degrees. Previously, the liquid level was monitored manually, but with the technological upgrades, instruments are now needed to control the liquid level. I need help determining which type of level switch is suitable for detecting foam in glycerin levels; thank you!
Using a differential pressure gauge or an internally inserted floating ball would be better
Can a float level switch withstand a temperature of 300?
This can be asked to the instrument manufacturer; with the current level of manufacturing and materials, there should be no problem
For a double-flange differential pressure level gauge, if it is intended to control only the high and low level points, a fork switch can be installed at each of these levels.
Glycerin produces foam – does it have an effect on the tuning fork?
The tuning fork available now should allow for adjustment of its sensitivity. There should be a difference in the vibration frequency of the tuning fork when it is placed in foam versus glycerin; it’s sufficient to adjust it so that it responds when in glycerin but not when in foam
