What is the role of the instrument coefficient in a swirl vortex gas flow meter, and what are the consequences of increasing or decreasing this coefficient?
The meter coefficient is calculated by the manufacturer using formulas based on parameters provided by the user; it is adjusted during calibration, and users cannot change it arbitrarily. The flow coefficient represents the number of vortices (pulses) per unit volume; the lower its value, the greater the flow rate, and vice versa.

Therefore, to ensure accurate measurement by the flow meter, it is best not to modify it casually ; If it is felt that the flow meter is not measuring accurately, it should be recalibrated (a flow meter of the same or higher grade can be connected in series in the pipeline for comparison in order to determine whether the measurement error is within acceptable limits; however, modifying the flow coefficient is not recommended).
