As shown in the figure, the PV1001 pressure regulating valve is a diaphragm air-operated valve of the flow-on type, with a DN25 size. The valve stem vibrates significantly; the vibration of the valve body is acceptable. I consulted the manufacturer, and they said it’s not possible to create a cage-type sleeve valve of such a small size. Is it possible to make adjustments from a technical standpoint? F1-F5 are manual valves, with F1 and F2 being normally closed.

Try adding a small buffer cylinder behind the valve. Ensure that there are no large fluctuations in gas supply for users.

If fixed and support issues are excluded, the likely causes are: 1. The pressure difference before and after the valve is too large; 2. The flow rate is significantly below the designed value, with the valve opening being less than 20%; 3. This is likely a case of pressure self-regulation – the pressure measurement point should be located close to the control valve. If there is a buffer tank in the downstream system, the measurement can be taken at that tank; otherwise, it should be taken at a location further away from the control valve. In the case of the first two situations, the manual valve located after the control valve can be gradually closed down until the vibration is reduced to an acceptable level and the pressure regulation curve becomes satisfactory. In the case of the third scenario, it is estimated that the control valve will operate frequently, with significant changes in its opening degree; vibrations will also vary accordingly. If no buffer tank is available, a section of large-diameter pipe should be added to the pipeline downstream of the valve (functioning as a buffer tank), and pressure readings should be taken from this pipe.
