For temperature and pressure compensation of the original gas volumetric flow rate, is it better to apply these factors before or after the flow meter?
It is better to install it at the front end: install the pressure sensor first, then the temperature sensor, leaving a straight pipe section in front of the flow meter.

First of all, the measurements of temperature and pressure must not interfere with the readings of the flow meter’s flow sensor; 2. Secondly, the measurements of temperature and pressure should accurately reflect the actual parameters at that flow meter. It is best to choose a flow meter that comes equipped with built-in temperature and pressure compensation functions. If it is indeed necessary to add such a point, the pressure measurement point can be placed upstream of the pipe, close to its interior. Pressure measurement involves detecting the static pressure on the pipe wall, and this does not affect flow rate measurements; therefore, it is possible to install such a point in a straight section of pipe, provided that the inner surface of that straight section is smooth enough at that location ; It is best to locate the temperature measurement point outside the straight section downstream of the pipe body (since the temperature sensor is inserted into the pipe, and no matter how small its diameter is, it will affect the flow of the fluid inside the pipe; however, the impact is much less when the sensor is placed at the downstream end compared to the upstream end, and there is almost no impact when it is placed outside the straight section downstream). Of course, all of the above depends on the actual operating environment and requirements of the flow meter. For example, when it comes to trade measurement, you should follow the procedures outlined above strictly; but if it is just a regular flow measurement or if there is insufficient space for installation, you can certainly relax the requirements accordingly.
