After the cable tray is installed, the overlap length of the tray covers is insufficient, the overlap gap is wide, or the covers are not fixed firmly enough. l Analysis and prevention: l After the cables are installed, covers should be attached to the cable trays; the overlap length of these covers should be at least 3–5 cm, with the overlap seam being no more than 3 mm. The covers should be secured firmly in place using locks. In the north, strong winds in spring can easily blow off the covers; therefore, once the cable trays are installed, it is necessary to put the covers back in place and secure them with the clamps.
The cover plate of the trough box provides significant protection: it prevents external forces from damaging the cables inside the trough box, stops foreign objects from falling into the trough box and thus harming the cables (such as spot welding sparks), and delays the impact of external hazards like flames on the cables.
The quality of the covers for cable trays cannot be ignored; poor installation of these covers can lead to damage to the cables under external forces, and they may also be blown off by strong winds, causing injury to people and damage to equipment. Some companies, in an attempt to save time when the cover plates were blown away, simply removed them, which led to serious problems later on – this should serve as a warning!

The wiring box for the temperature sensor should be installed vertically or horizontally with its top facing up; otherwise, rainwater will flow down along the thermometer shaft into the wiring box, causing water to accumulate inside it.

The clamps on the cable tray cover have rusted, causing the cover to become loose and to be blown off in strong winds. During subsequent maintenance to reinstall the cover plate, wire was used for binding, rather than stainless steel wire or stainless steel straps; as the wire rusted, the cover plate came loose.

It’s better to use wire ties, and to check the condition of the cover plates regularly every year
