HMI software that does not require a real touch screen

Dear experts, all of you have many years of experience in industrial control. I would like to ask: which HMI software allows communication with PLCs or other control devices without the need for a physical touch screen, by simply installing the software on a computer? This would be very useful for debugging with PLCs before purchasing a touch screen. Do any of you know of such HMI software that could be recommended?

Siemens’ host computer software will do. The previous WinCC flexible touchscreen programs could run in conjunction with a PLC on a computer at the same time.
