For the Yokogawa split-type mass flow meters used in our company, two wires in one of the sensors are broken; these wires are not labeled, so it’s unclear how to connect them, and the documentation provided by the manufacturer also doesn’t contain any relevant instructions. Select one wiring scenario, only to find that the display values fluctuate wildly in the no-control situation, showing an error of FAULT.
Is there a break between the sensor and the transmitter?
The specialized cables used between the split-type mass flow meters from Yokogawa are always described in detail in the operation manuals for those mass flow meters; either the cable colors are different or the cables are numbered. Special cables for instruments from such reputable manufacturers are never without any markings. Unless a non-original cable is used. Use a signal to test two wires with resistances of over a kiloohm each and a resistance of a hundred ohms; determine on your own which of those two wires is broken. No, it’s the two wires inside the sensor itself that are broken; there are only green and blue wires, and the soldering terminals don’t indicate which one is which The connection wires between the sensor and the transmitter are intact.
Here, lines 1#, 2#, and 3# each consist of two wires, while lines 4#, 5#, and 6# each consist of one wire. The wire between the sensor and the transmitter is fine; it’s the internal terminals and solder joints of the sensor where two wires are broken. There are only green and blue wires, and the solder joints aren’t marked, so it’s unclear which wire goes to which connection
