I have a humble question: can the measurement range of an orifice flow meter be determined using the screenshot below? Or how should it be calculated? I’m hoping for some help from experts :( It seems like I’m not quite clear on what the concept of measurement range entails. Could someone please explain it to me patiently? Thank you so much.
The figure clearly shows the upper limit for flow measurement, namely a maximum flow of 4200. Furthermore, the calculation sheet is not meant for performing calculations; it is a result obtained by the manufacturer of the flow control components based on actual data, and the end user can use it directly to view the data. Usually, it is sufficient to use the range values for differential pressure and flow rate given in the calculation sheet
As I understand it, this specification sheet of yours is for the orifice plate; there should also be another one for the corresponding differential pressure transmitter. What you’re asking about is the measurement range of the orifice plate flow meter, which refers to the range of the instrument in use on site. This range is 0–10*10^4 Nm3/d (this is the rated flow rate specified in the technical data) ; The differential pressure range is 0-40 kPa.
The actual flow rate of an orifice plate flow meter cannot be determined from this; this data sheet is intended for use by manufacturers to carry out selection calculations (to determine the orifice diameter, wall thickness, and transmitter range). Only after such calculations are completed can the actual maximum measurement range of the flow meter be known.
