Thermocouple failures and troubleshooting methods

Fault symptoms, cause analysis, and solutions: The thermoelectric potential is lower than the actual value (1) Short circuit； (2) Short circuit between terminals in the thermocouple junction box ； (3) Short circuit of the compensation wire due to burned insulation ； (4) Mismatch between the compensation wire and the thermocouple ； (5) The compensation wire and thermocouple are connected with reversed polarity ； (6) Insufficient insertion depth or incorrect installation position ； (7) The cold junction temperature of the thermocouple is too high. (1) Upon inspection, if it is caused by moisture, it can be dried; if it is due to poor insulation of the porcelain tube, it should be replaced ； (2) Open the junction box and clean the wiring board ； (3) Re-insulate the shorted area or replace it with new compensation wire ； (4) Replace with a compensating wire of the same type ； (5) Reconnect correctly ； (6) Change the installation position or insertion depth ； (7) Replace the connecting wires of the thermocouple with compensation wires to move the cold end away from the high-temperature area.
