Is there a positive and negative distinction for the extension cable of the unit shaft displacement probe and the wiring of the preamplifier?

After the compressor in our unit was overhauled, the axis displacement reading shown was negative, whereas it should be positive. I would like to ask whether there is a positive and negative polarity in the wiring of the eddy current axis displacement probe’s extension cable to the preamplifier, and whether the issue is caused by reversed wiring
Coaxial cable cannot be reversed; if there is indeed a problem, it’s due to an incorrect installation location
Check whether the setting for 3500 is correct (positive when close or positive when far), and check the positioning during installation (whether it is at a mechanical dead point), etc
How can coaxial cables have positive and negative values? If the displacement is shown as a negative value, check the settings in the 3500 configuration to see whether it is defined as positive when approaching or positive when moving away; by modifying that value, the sign can be reversed. Additionally, the negative value actually represents the absolute value of the displacement, which is positive. Since the zero-point gap voltage has already been defined within the 3500 settings, the absolute value of the displacement remains the same regardless of whether it is shown as positive or negative
Was no misalignment ensured during installation for maintenance? After installation, a fitter usually needs to pry it to the sides to check whether the play is consistent with what is shown inside.
