Medium: chloromethane gas mixture; flow rate: 0–10,000 m3/h; corrosive; pipe size: DN200 PN5.0. What kind of flow meter is the best? Looking for recommendations.
This depends on your measurement accuracy; a mass flow meter is recommended. If low flow rates are not a concern, vortex flow meters, Coriolis meters, and orifice plates can all be used……
Differential pressure type, vortex flow meter, thermal mass flow meter, and target flow meter are all options; choose based on accuracy and on-site installation conditions (for example, whether a straight pipeline is available)
Differential pressure types will do. I don’t recommend the others. Quality and thermal types are too expensive; vortex flow meters, while good, are also costly and may not provide accurate readings. Target types are out of the question, and ultrasonic flow meters are expensive as well – there’s no need for such high precision in such small pipes.
A DN 200 pipeline is quite large; for energy-saving reasons, long-diameter nozzles and venturi tubes are used.
I recommend using a multi-parameter orifice flow meter with a wireless output to avoid the need for wiring. There’s no need to worry about medium corrosion, but what material are your pipelines made of?
If money isn’t a concern, go with gas ultrasonic
