I would appreciate it if an expert could give me some advice. I’ve encountered a problem recently under the following operating conditions: Medium: 60% sulfuric acid, containing hard crystalline ferrous particles (fluorocarbon-lined valves are not suitable). Temperature: 70–80°C. Pressure: 0.3–0.4 MPa. Pipe diameter: DN32. Flow rate: 3–5 m3/h. The valve needs to be capable of regulation. Fluorocarbon-lined V-ball valves have been used in these conditions, but internal leakage occurred within just 1 week; upon disassembly, it was found that the valve core and seals were completely damaged. In theory, ceramic V-ball valves should work well, but sometimes the impeller of the pump (lined with rubber; one pump serves multiple systems) comes loose and gets stuck in the valve core, causing the ceramic to crack and get damaged. The company is facing big problems right now – the costs associated with using that particular section of equipment are extremely high. Is there anyone who can suggest a solution? What kind of metal valves or other types of valves could be used to address this issue? Thank you all!

It’s probably a problem with selecting the pump, right? It’s the pump gasket that needs to be dealt with, right? It is recommended to search on *Bao, enter your keyword, and find a relatively professional direct-sales company to consult with. It should be solvable.
I have also considered changing the pump to a 1-to-1 configuration with variable frequency control, but the equipment specialists have not given any specific response yet. If we handle the issue only by using rubber linings, I think they will be even more frustrated, as problems such as peeling off of the linings are likely to occur
For a long-term solution, choosing a more suitable pump is key; in the short term, it is recommended to install a filter and clean it regularly, or add two valves—one for shut-off and one for control—which might yield better results
There is a manual valve for shutoff, but it doesn’t work either

That’s not so easy to handle; the key lies in the pump. If other impurities are present, no valve made of any material will be able to withstand it
You deserve equipment expertise; I don’t know what that means, but the relevant work still needs to be done. For example, find the appropriate pump and coordinate with the relevant manufacturers to confirm the relevant terms. Then, a report is prepared to seek guidance from the relevant supervisors, along with the corresponding plan. Your work is temporarily over. Do whatever is left to be done, without worrying about it.
For hard-sealed valves made of Hastelloy, the price for DN32 is around 20,000; 200,000 is just a way to trick people. I’m using full HB myself. For media with particles, it is also necessary to consider installing a filter before the valve.
