PiD parameter tuning

I plan to spend two years systematically learning about PID parameter tuning and the automation of control valves. Does anyone with experience have any advice for me?
First, understand the respective functions of PID, and then gradually figure things out by considering the actual operating conditions! This isn’t something that happens over just one or two years either; as operating conditions, processes, and equipment change, it may be necessary to adjust the parameters again!
This set of regulations lacks systematicness in the first place, so how can there be systematic learning? This tuning is simply a process of making things fit together; there is no theory behind it. It also doesn’t take two years to learn the three parameters*. In the end, no one dares to claim to have complete confidence in their PID parameter settings, not even experts. If you’re wasting time on this, you might as well sign up for a certified professional exam.
