As the question states, I suddenly realized that in the process flow diagrams I’ve seen before, there was no clear indication of how the pumps were controlled; such information was only provided in the DCS I/O parameter tables and circuit diagrams. Now, a colleague has asked me if there are any issues with the way the pump control is shown in the process flow diagrams, and I found myself at a loss – I wasn’t able to give a clear answer. I would appreciate it if someone could provide a screenshot so that it’s easier to understand. Thank you!

It wasn’t explained clearly; the control of a pump refers to things like starting and stopping it, as well as displaying its operating status.
What kind of process flow diagram? ? ? Pump control? What other controls are there besides the start-up of the interlocked pumps? Just draw an interlock line
Everything I’ve come across is as shown in the diagram. Now, the process requirements specify that the pumps should be started and stopped via DCS, and I’m not sure what symbols or letters should be used to indicate this. I’m not a design specialist, so I’m seeking advice. Thank you!

You’re not in design, so why ask you? Although there are standards for what symbols and letters to use, for a specific diagram, it is still necessary to first check the legend.
