As we all know, the calculation method for the automation rate of instruments is the ratio of the number of automatic circuits in use to the total number that should be under automatic control. But how is this calculated for our installations when they are shut down? Should it be calculated based on the actual figures or using some other method? If calculated practically, it might be particularly low during this period, which doesn’t provide a good guiding direction for analysis. Are there any better methods available?
In my opinion, since the device has been discontinued, it should not be included in the calculation; therefore, this amount should be deducted to obtain the true automation rate.

There are regular records kept; it’s sufficient to identify those that cannot be used
There are domestic systems for monitoring the automatic control stability rate, which can automatically detect key parameters such as the feed rate of the equipment (which can be set individually). If these parameters fall to very low levels, it is determined that the equipment should stop operating, and it is not included in the calculations related to the automatic control rate. In the case of faulty circuits, it is also possible to set thresholds based on measurement values or valve status to exclude them from the statistics.
