It must be caused by condensation water. . I have seen a concrete open pool with water flowing down from a mechanically ventilated cooling tower; this water often splashes onto the antenna of the radar level gauge, resulting in inaccurate measurements. . In the end, there was no choice but to switch to submersible level gauges
This is a typical secondary and tertiary echo reflection, not caused by dew. The reason is that the spacing between each echo is the same, and the echo intensity decreases sequentially
How is this type of echo formed? Could you describe it briefly?
The condensate was wiped clean, and a measurement was taken immediately – there were still 3 peaks.
Expert, is there any good way to solve this? It doesn’t affect the measurements, but it looks unpleasant; I have OCD.
Although it is the second echo or the third echo, what is the fundamental cause of these echoes? Is an 80GHz radar that powerful? No attenuation at all? It reflects three times off the concrete and the water surface, and my radar is more than 3 meters above the water surface.
The poster might want to consider the installation location to see if it’s too close to the pool wall. It is generally required that the installation location be at least 500 mm away horizontally from the pool wall. Additionally, this phenomenon is multiple echoes; with the concrete pool roof and the sewage medium, and a clearance of only 3 meters, multiple echoes are something normal. A 80Hz radar can detect objects up to 30 meters away; even with attenuation due to reflections, the intensity of the signal returning can still be measured. Also, deal with obsessive-compulsive disorder; these repeated echoes don’t affect the measurements, so just bear it through and it will pass. :lol
Yes, multiple echoes are indeed annoying, but once you understand it, you can accept them.
