Problems with remote water meters

I need to purchase a water meter with reed switch pulse remote transmission; I’ve never used this type of device before. If anyone knows anything about it, please explain it to me. Mainly, does its remote transmission output passive dry contacts? Can it still output an active signal? Can passive signals be easily damaged by unstable power supply voltages?
I’ve never used reed-switch water meters; however, level gauges are quite stable. They are connected to the local liquid level, and they output passive signals. Relatively speaking, as long as the local liquid level is fine, there will be no problems. A common fault is the occurrence of intermittent errors after long periods of use.
For in-situ level gauges, I would recommend using dampened types; they are usually used in conjunction with magnetic flip switches, provide a stable output, and require little adjustment.
