What is the inspection cycle for combustible and toxic gas alarms? Is it determined by the calibration cycle of the instrument, or should it be inspected after a leak alarm is triggered? There are cases where, as the inspection deadline approaches after about a year, some of these instruments fail to give an alarm or produce false alarms. How should I deal with this?
It is generally inspected once a year. In special cases, testing can also be carried out based on the actual circumstances, but it should not exceed one year. For example, in cases where the location of the alarm is changed, or where there is collision resulting in no alarm being triggered or false alarms occurring, calibration should be carried out in advance. The purpose of calibration is to keep the alarm in a sensitive and functional state at all times.
This is a mandatory inspection that takes place once a year, carried out by third-party testing agencies. Currently, the service is provided free of charge; one can simply approach a local metrology and testing unit to carry out the inspection. Internal inspections should also be carried out within one’s own company, once a quarter (as suggested by expert teams), and there must be records of these inspections and maintenance activities. At other times, any faults detected should be addressed immediately, with proper records kept.

In some companies, the work teams conduct calibrations on a monthly basis; the company’s metrology department carries out random inspections on 1/2 of them every quarter, while formal inspections are carried out by the metrology authority.
