Hello, I would like to ask whether the instrument control cable tray can pass through the low-voltage distribution room (the cable distribution layer located below the low-voltage distribution room). The instrument tray and the electrical tray are separated by 1.5 meters, with no physical connection between them. Is it possible to do this? Initially, the design called for going around the distribution room along the cable trench and then up to the pipe rack; however, since no cable trench was available for some reason, it was decided to go through the building interior instead. Thank you
As long as the distance is sufficient, it should work
1. Don’t seek shortcuts; if you still have time, follow the optimal approach. 2. The instrument cable requires shielding via a cable tray
The distance between the instrument tray and the electrical tray is 1.5 meters, which is considered sufficient based on experience. On the cable trays in various on-site utility tunnels, the distance between the instruments and electrical equipment often fails to reach 1.5 meters.
\"GB 50168-2006 Code for Construction and Acceptance of Cable Lines\" – I hope it can help you!
Thank you; the distance is sufficient. I’m worried that passing through the power distribution room wouldn’t meet the specifications
These days, it is rare to find designs in which the DCS cabinet room is located above the power distribution room. If it is necessary to pass through the low-voltage power distribution room (which is actually a cable tray), as long as construction is carried out in accordance with the regulations, there will be no problems. It’s just that the trough box is made of metal, which provides better shielding.
The cable trench, right? The cable compartment refers to the layer between floors; as a project owner, I would not approve the use of cable trenches, after all this is not the steel industry, and such practices are generally not allowed in the chemical industry.
Fully enclosed hot-dip galvanized tray-type cable tray is used
