The company’s reactors control temperature by adjusting the flow rate of the molten salt; therefore, good regulation performance is required. I’m not sure which type of valve and which manufacturer to choose Temperature: 350–400°C, head of the molten salt circulation pump: 4 meters ; The pump has a maximum capacity of 2500 m3/h; it is operated at 80% of its capacity under normal conditions. The Rope valves purchased earlier began to stick after being used for some time, and it is suspected that leakage from the valve cores caused crystallization at low temperatures. It’s difficult to find suitable replacements.

It seems that a single-seat valve is not suitable for this operating condition as it tends to crystallize; the torque required to open it for the first time is likely to be high as well. Try using an eccentric rotary valve from a reputable brand instead. (Well, the performance tuning might not be very good.)
We have used molten salt before; for valves, angle valves are chosen, and the installation location should be above the molten salt tank. The pipelines need to have a slope. If you’re interested, we can discuss this in more detail
That valve cannot be closed completely; if it is, the molten salt will solidify
In areas where crystallization is likely to occur, it’s sufficient to provide heat tracing for the valves or pipelines; if the steam temperature doesn’t rise enough, then electric heat tracing should be used!
For crystalline media, ceramic ball valves are a good choice. Zirconia ceramics are inorganic non-metallic salts that do not react with any media; you might want to take a look at KOWOV’s ceramic valves

This type of control valve is supplied as part of the molten salt tank equipment by the manufacturer; our company’s valves are part of such sets, while the actuators are purchased separately.
