In our chemical company’s DCS, the last two servers have been experiencing a synchronization issue of one or two seconds; what security risks does this pose to production?
It’s the server from that manufacturer; how can one detect a synchronization delay of one or two seconds?

Could there be a risk of the two servers giving conflicting instructions, or other risks?
If you say it’s not synchronized, is it really not synchronized? Why synchronize? Are your wife and you also unsure about your relationship, aren’t you? Hahaha, there’s no such thing as a risk. Don’t worry. Put a piece of pork on the chest; five-flavored ones work too.

I don’t believe it; there are very few SOEs in DCS. The servers aren’t synchronized – it’s just that the timing at which trends are recorded is different. In cases where the trend changes rapidly, data is collected every 1 second, but usually it’s collected every 5 seconds or 30 seconds. A difference of 2 seconds is only a potential issue; it simply means that the trends recorded on the two servers differ by 2 seconds
