What is the difference between oil-driven valves and pneumatic valves? Why are some PSA programmable valves actuated by oil while others are actuated by air? What is the difference?
The oil-driven type should be hydraulic; hydraulics can provide higher pressure to operate large-diameter valves. Pneumatic valves generally have a maximum pressure of around 8 kilograms, which can be insufficient in some applications.
Is it mainly distinguished based on driving pressure? Is this difference in driving pressure caused by the pressure difference in the pipelines before and after the valve?
It is related to the pressure difference before and after, and of course it is also related to the diameter. In short, I think it comes down to the magnitude of the driving torque. The valve factory calculates this torque, and then determines whether pneumatic or hydraulic power is more suitable.
The main considerations are the driving torque (related to diameter, pressure difference, valve structure, etc.) and the operating speed (hydraulics enable fast operation of large-diameter valves); a choice is made after taking these factors into account.
PSA programmable valves must never use hydraulic actuators; such actuators often cause severe leaks, resulting in a mess of dirty oil all over the area! ! !
Of our four sets of PSA units, two are oil-powered; now a large oil collection box is placed under each valve.;P
When choosing between oil-driven and pneumatic systems, local climate conditions need to be taken into account. Since there is a small amount of water vapor in the gas source, it may freeze in winter and cause blockages in the gas supply pipes; this has happened with our PSA units as well. Oil-driven systems can avoid similar situations.
So, what is the main factor behind choosing between these two types of valves – pneumatic and hydraulic? Is it the pressure difference? But it doesn’t seem that high in cost, does it? Or the speed of movement? Or reliability
