Dear teachers, can an external-mounted ultrasonic level gauge measure the liquid level in a tank whose exterior is made of cast iron and whose interior is lined with enamel, and which also has a stirrer? It’s similar to using ultrasound to measure liquid level by passing it through two layers of medium; will stirring inside the tank cause interference? The maximum temperature inside the reactor is 150 degrees, the medium is ethylenediamine, and it operates at atmospheric pressure.
As long as the container wall is \"solid,\" it has little impact on external ultrasonic applications； Stirring has an impact on the measurement, but it doesn’t prevent the level from being determined; it depends on your tolerance for that impact.
The walls of the container are tightly packed, with no bubbles or layers of gas or liquid. An external-mounted ultrasonic level gauge should be capable of making measurements. Stirring has an impact on the measurement
External-mounted ultrasonic level gauges have advantages in simple storage tanks. In your case, the main factors that have an impact are mixing and temperature; therefore, such gauges cannot be used. As for lining with enamel, it does not pose any issue. :)
