Dear experts, could you please tell me what the function of this position-locking valve is? And how does it work? Thank you all!
The one on the left is single-acting, while the one on the right is double-acting
The function of the position-locking valve is to close (or open) the air path that was previously open when the air pressure at the control end is below (or above) the set value. The most common usage is to use the instrument air supply as a control signal; when there is a failure in the instrument air supply and it is interrupted, the position-locking valve shuts off the corresponding control air circuit, keeping the actuator in its predetermined state.
When the gas supply is cut off, the valve opening remains at the level it was before the supply was interrupted
