The company’s reaction reactors are quite special – both steam and cooling water are required, which makes temperature control challenging. Before turning on the steam to raise the temperature, it’s necessary to drain the water first; if the water isn’t completely drained, the temperature won’t rise. The problem is that there’s no easy way to determine whether the water has been fully drained. Installing a temperature sensor on the drainage pipe isn’t very effective, as the temperature response is slow and delayed. Does anyone have any good suggestions?
It is sufficient to install a drain at the bottom of the reactor jacket or coil; once steam pushes against the water, it will naturally be discharged. Float-type steam traps are more suitable when there is cold water in the system (they have a large diameter and low resistance).
