In the process of selecting instruments, our instrument engineers more or less have to deal with the issue of material selection for such instruments. What exactly is the basis for making a selection? Corrosion manual? Upgrade of pipeline material? Experience? It is probably more based on empiricism; some organizations have a long history of tradition, but as industrial instrument engineers, we may not have such a legacy, and everyone’s experience also varies. This is why it is necessary for the seniors to share their knowledge and guide us, the juniors. Although we may not make as good a choice as the manufacturers, or we might choose incorrectly, our data sheets are not empty; we have done our best and can live with our conscience clear. Sometimes, we can’t just let manufacturers choose values that are too high; it’s excessive, you know… That’s why we’re offering a reward for anyone who can provide tables or documents related to material selection, whether used privately or publicly. Those who carefully submit the forms are rewarded with Haichuan coins as appropriate; those who perform exceptionally well receive a special Haichuan coin award (on a personal basis). I hope this can improve the efficiency of selecting instruments for us, making it more accurate and scientific. As a useful reference, Emerson’s guide to material selection for electromagnetic flowmeters covers the choice of electrode materials; information is available for most types of media, with distinctions based on temperature and concentration. It can serve as a reference for selecting materials when choosing flowmeters
