24V electromagnetic flowmeter, without remote transmission, but it can have remote transmission by connecting a multimeter. What is the reason?
There isn’t enough information in the problem description; check whether the correct setting is selected on the multimeter and whether the test leads are in good condition……
It might be that the load isn’t sufficient; try using a 250-ohm resistor
With the mA range in series, data is available on the DCS. No need to use a multimeter to connect the wires; there is no data from the DCS

The current setting on a multimeter is equivalent to a wire; it’s impossible in theory. It’s likely that you haven’t connected the wires properly
Is it a 4-20 milliampere output? Resistance only affects Hart communication; it has no impact on analog current signals, right?
No remote transmission? Is that watch turned on?
I’ve encountered that too; the reason is interference in the circuit. By adding an isolation barrier, everything works fine.
