I have been working with control systems for over 20 years; I’ve dealt with major foreign brands such as Honeywell, Yokogawa, and ABB. Domestically, companies like Zhejiang University Control System, Inovance, and Xinhua are used quite rarely. Now that I’ve switched industries, I see that many systems use Chint Zhongzi products – I’ve never heard of them nor used them before. If any of you know something about them, please share some information.
It seems to be useful in the water treatment industry... because the price is relatively low... Nowadays, the threshold for entering the DCS market is very low, so many companies are getting involved; those in the petrochemical and coal chemical industries opt for more advanced systems； Mid-range in fine chemicals ； For environmental-friendly energy, choose the lower-end options.
Chint Zhongzi was formerly known as Zhejiang University Zhongzi, and was later acquired by Chint. Chint has big ambitions; it has also acquired Shanghai Xinhua, aiming to dominate both the power and chemical industries, just like Emerson does. However, the performance has not shown much improvement, and it seems that the gap with Honeywell Control Solutions is growing wider. Zhejiang Zhongkong, Chint Zhongzi, and Hangzhou Youwen all originated from Zhejiang University; their advantage seems to be their low cost.
Chint Zhongzi, Zhejiang Zhongkong, and Hangzhou Youwen all originated from Zhejiang University. However, Zhongkong has developed its own system, while Zhongzi and Youwen were both created by the same person; their configuration software is extremely similar. In terms of hardware, Youwen may have switched from a chassis-based design to a modular one in order to distinguish itself from Zhongzi. I’ve used those made in China, and I find their stability to be acceptable. As for domestic products, their price is what it is; one shouldn’t have too high expectations. However, I’ve used them less in the past couple of years because the prices of accessories are too high. Most DCS manufacturers end up treating their long-time customers in this way once they reach a certain level of success.
