For the technical renovation of the project, a batch of galvanized steel pipes was purchased, with a specification of DN100. Upon arrival and inspection, a steel tape measure was used to check the diameter, and it seemed that the diameter of these galvanized steel pipes was not 100 mm. I’m not sure if this is the correct way to measure materials for inspection; could it be that the supplier has used lower-quality materials to cut costs?
DN100 is the nominal diameter; check the standard

Check which standard the pipe follows, and then search for relevant data based on that standard.
The engineering diameter is not the inner or outer diameter; rather, it is a nominal diameter, and the inner and outer diameters are determined based on standards regarding the pipe type and wall thickness.
