Some people say that this rise in liquid level is caused by the slight blockage at the base. In my opinion, regardless of how much the flange-type differential level gauge is blocked, as long as there is some flow through it, it can still display the accurate level. This is related to the even distribution of the liquid’s flow. Some people suggest that a slight blockage at the base of the level indicator is responsible for inaccurate readings; this blockage reduces the area subject to pressure, thereby increasing the pressure. Blockages have an impact on accurate measurement; with minor blockages, the actual liquid level does not change much, so there is no effect on the measurement; When the actual liquid level changes significantly, the measurement becomes delayed, resulting in inaccurate readings.

In my opinion, based on the principle of double-flange level gauges, it is the flanges that are used to detect pressure transmission; logically, as long as there is no blockage, it should not have a significant impact on the measurement. It’s possible to check whether there are any problems with the diaphragm at the negative pressure side. In our installation, due to changes in the medium used, the diaphragms at the negative pressure side of the original double-flange level gauges kept getting damaged, so now we mostly use single-flange level gauges instead. You can also consult the equipment manufacturer.
Diaphragm boxes are used to measure pressure, primarily by detecting the hydrostatic pressure of liquids; as long as there is a slight leakage in the diaphragm box, it can sense this pressure.
