It turns out that the DCS systems and operation stations are installed on-site; for safety reasons, fiber optics are used to transmit signals to a centralized control room for unified management. As for whether to retain operation stations on-site, and how many of them should be kept, that is a matter to be determined
Since centralized control is adopted for safety reasons, there is no need to retain any on-site operation stations; not a single one should be kept.
Redundancy design considerations must, of course, be maintained on-site. The site serves as the engineer station. Normally, the DCS screen can be monitored but not operated. If there is an issue, DCS engineers can log in to check it.
Whether to leave personnel on site depends specifically on the process requirements and the safety conditions at the site. Instruments are considered auxiliary equipment in this industry; generally, only operator stations are left on site while engineer stations are located in the control room. Divide the area on site according to the process; otherwise, chaotic operations will occur.
