Have you encountered the issue of oil seeping from the protective layer of capillaries during routine maintenance? I’ve seen a layer of oil film form on the capillaries, with obvious oil stains on the fixing brackets, and the level gauge also showed inaccurate readings (although blockage at the pressure measurement point cannot be ruled out). When it was sent to the manufacturer for inspection, the level gauge was found to be in good condition, with proper linearity and zero point settings. Has anyone else run into similar problems?
The manufacturer’s inspections should include checking for oil leaks. Errors caused by oil leaks cannot be detected in a short period of time; it is a slow process. However, over time, it becomes necessary to replace the instrument with a new one
If proper protection of the finished product is not ensured during installation, it is likely that the capillaries will be damaged, resulting in oil leakage. Generally, the diaphragm of the differential pressure transmitter is more prone to damage. If all parameters are found to be normal during factory testing, there is no issue using it again.
If there is indeed an oil leak, the factory inspections will be able to detect it. Even if the inspections fail to detect the leak, then this instrument cannot pass all the standard tests. So, if the test comes back fine, there should be no major problems.
Ugh, it must be a third-rate manufacturer – some small workshop that does contract manufacturing. During production, oil got into the capillaries; when pressure is applied for a static pressure test, any leaks will cause the oil to escape, so the accuracy of such testing is useless
