After the manual valve was opened, the process flow rate was approximately 3 cubic meters; the opening degree of the associated control valve was 60, and the flow meter also indicated a flow rate of around 3 cubic meters. However, after some time, the valve remained at 60% open, and the manual valve didn’t move either. Yet the reading on the flow meter kept decreasing. The flow meter in question is a Yokogawa electromagnetic flow meter, and the fluid being measured is pure water. What could be causing this situation?
If it doesn’t conduct electricity, an electromagnetic flowmeter definitely cannot be used; other types can be chosen, such as vortex flowmeters, turbine flowmeters, ultrasonic flowmeters, or positive displacement flowmeters – electromagnetic flowmeters are not an option in this case
Do you mean desalinated water by pure water? If so, electromagnetism won’t work

Who said that pure water cannot be measured using an electromagnetic flowmeter? All you need to do is add chemicals to the pure water. A good electromagnetic flowmeter can perform measurements when the conductivity reaches 20 μS/cm; domestic models may require a conductivity of 50 μS/cm.
The medium measured by an electromagnetic flowmeter must be conductive. Is the pure water in your home conductive?
