Regarding whether chained signals belong to I/O points

Hello everyone. I work in chemical process engineering, and as part of my job I need to provide the electrical team with DCS I/O lists. There are two interlock signals in the plant, and I would like to ask whether these interlock signals belong to DO points or to soft connections Also, I would like to ask first how soft connections are made Thank you all!
Motor current signals, voltage signals, frequency signals, etc. are analog signals, while signals indicating that the motor is ready, indications of the motor’s operation status, and the motor’s emergency stop button are digital I and D signals. DI stands for digital input (the same applies in DCS), while DO stands for digital output. AI analog input, AO analog output. DI and DO are merely some of the signals in electrical instrumentation interlocks; they are simply digital signals
