I have a question for everyone (please don’t be harsh; forgive my ignorance): To ensure that the cylinder can be driven effectively, which parameter of compressed air is the most crucial? Is it the gas source pressure or the gas flow rate? Gas capacity? When choosing solenoid valves and air pipes for 200L cylinders and 500L cylinders, how should one make the decision?
Air supply pressure; however, this pressure can be discussed with the seller before purchasing the cylinder. If the air supply pressure is high, the cross-sectional area of the cylinder body can be made smaller, while in the opposite case, the force-bearing area of the cylinder needs to be increased. As long as the solenoid valve and air supply pipe can meet the required air volume, it is possible to conduct technical discussions with the manufacturer of choice.
Both pressure and flow rate are important. Given a certain air supply pressure, what cylinder cross-sectional area is required to generate the torque needed for the valve to operate properly under the maximum differential pressure? Of course, the lower the pressure, the larger the cylinder and the higher the cost. The greater the pressure, the smaller the cylinder can be. When selecting solenoid valves and air supply pipes, the main considerations are the process requirements and the timing requirements for valve operation. If the valve takes no more than 10 seconds to go from fully open to fully closed, then it is necessary to calculate the flow rate that can pass through the diameter of the solenoid valve and the air supply pipe or other components in the air circuit under maximum pressure. Valve manufacturers can calculate these values; you just need to provide the required data.

The force that must be met is the product of pressure and the cross-sectional area of the cylinder; this value is usually in the tonnage range. For example, for a cylinder with a diameter of 20 centimeters, its cross-sectional area is 314 square centimeters, and with a wind pressure of 6 kilograms per square centimeter, the force generated is 1.8 tons. There are requirements for fast speed as well as slow speed; this depends on the volume and the speed of air supply or exhaust.
All of these factors need to be taken into consideration: the torque required for your valve to open and close properly under the maximum pressure difference in operation, as well as the full-stroke time required according to on-site specifications. You can simply leave this task to the supplier. There aren’t many manufacturers who can customize cylinders for you, unless you order a very large quantity
