Just starting out with valve selection, I found that these three functions are all used to achieve rapid opening and closing in either angular or linear motion. There are indeed amplifiers in the locator, but there are also external amplifiers. For example, the YT-3XX series from Yongtai is a device that receives the output pressure from a positioner mounted on a pneumatic control valve and delivers it at the same pressure to the actuator; it uses a high-flow air supply to accelerate the response speed of the control valve. It can provide a large flow rate to the actuator, thereby increasing the speed of valve operation.

Thank you for the advice; since the functional requirements for the actuators of such valves vary, I simply tried to guess the simplest type of actuator to ask about, before I became aware of the specific issues involved. As for the original intention, it depends on what the poster has in mind; maybe you’re right. Oh, if more functions are added, there will be even more – it’s not just an amplifier.

The solenoid valves and positioners that come standard with valves have limitations due to their own pneumatic circuits; as a result, the flow rate of the process air they can handle cannot be infinitely high. In fact, especially for positioners, the amount of process air that can pass through them per unit of time is even smaller. This flow rate has little impact when controlling small nozzles (cylinders), but it can cause the valves to operate very slowly when large cylinders are in use.
