Does the SIS system require alarms?

Many processes these days are equipped with Safety Instrumented Systems, SIS. So I would like to ask everyone here: is it necessary to set up alarms for SIS? Isn’t it to directly cut off the parking? What is the relationship between this and the alarm settings of traditional DCS? How to set it up? Are there any relevant standards?

There must be a DCS alarm before SIS interlock activation
Why? Isn’t SIS the Safety Instrumented Shutdown system? Why call the police then? If alarms are to be set, how should they be configured in relation to the DCS system’s alarms?
That’s for sure, but does SIS need to have alarms set up? What I understand is a direct action!
The DCS will issue an alarm; why is it necessary for the SIS to issue another alarm as well?
Surely the DCS system will give an alarm before interlocking occurs. If both the DCS and the SIS give alarms, doesn’t that mean there are more alarms in total? Once there’s too much of it, people get tired!
