A single-flange pressure transmitter is installed at the bottom of the tank on-site, and another single-flange pressure transmitter is installed at the top of the tank. So how are these two cables connected? 1. These two transmitters are both connected to a meter, and then this meter is connected to the DCS? I don’t see this gauge at the site. 2. The cables of these two transmitters are both connected to the DCS, which then uses an algorithm to perform the calculations.
This isn’t Emerson’s ERS; the color of the transmitter doesn’t seem to match. It appears to be two separate pressure transmitters. In Emerson’s ERS system, the positive and negative pressure sides are connected via specialized communication cables, with the positive pressure side transmitter being connected to the DCS. The differential pressure is measured directly, without the need for the DCS to perform any conversions.
This post was last edited by liu530014416 on 2020-5-17 11:14. The pressure transmitter used is Honeywell’s ST700 pressure transmitter. I opened the pressure transmitter below; it has only 2 wires, no communication cable.
Yes, your image shows just one type of ERS configuration; in the case of seas, it’s possible to use two single-flange versions

Emerson calls it ERS; do other brands use the same name? The picture you sent definitely isn’t from Rosemont. This type of instrument consists of two units, a master and a slave; the power supply is provided to the master unit, and the output signals also travel through the power lines. However, there is a communication cable between the master and slave instruments, used to supply power to the slave instrument and collect the measurement data from it. Therefore, the main panel has more than two wiring terminals. Check if the part is installed in the wrong position
