How does Honeywell PKS implement fluctuation alarms/rate of change alarms?

Now, a program needs to be designed that triggers an alarm if the liquid level changes by more than 10 mm in either direction within every 5 seconds. If it is no more than 10mm, there is no need for an alarm. How can this be achieved?
I’ve never used Honey’s system, but isn’t the general approach the same in all of them? Calculate the difference between the current value and the sampled value from 5 seconds ago; an alarm should be triggered if the absolute value of this difference is greater than 10 MM
