(1) Miniaturization: Microsensors are based on MEMS (microelectro-mechanical systems) technology developed through semiconductor integrated circuit techniques. Sensors based on MEMS technology are now being used to replace existing products. With the further advancement of microelectronics manufacturing technologies, particularly nanofabrication techniques, sensor technology will evolve from microsensors to nanosensors. The development and application of microsensors will receive increasing favor in various fields. (2) Intelligence Intelligent sensors are the result of combining one or more sensitive elements, microprocessors, peripheral control and communication circuits, as well as intelligent software systems; they possess functions such as monitoring, decision-making, and information processing. Compared to traditional sensors, it has many features. For example, it can determine the operating status of sensors and correct the measurement data in order to reduce errors caused by environmental factors such as temperature and humidity ; It can use software to solve problems that are difficult to address with hardware ; It can perform tasks such as data calculation and processing. Moreover, the precision, range of measurement, signal-to-noise ratio, intelligence level, remote maintainability, accuracy, stability, reliability, and interchangeability of smart sensors are all far superior to those of ordinary sensors. (3) Bionic simulation: Bionic sensors are devices that automatically capture and process information by simulating various human behaviors such as vision, hearing, sensation, smell, and thinking. They represent a new type of information technology that has emerged in recent years as a result of the integration of biomedicine with electronics and engineering. With further advancements in biotechnology and other technologies, bionic sensors that mimic biological functions will, in the near future, surpass the capabilities of human senses, enhancing the vision, taste, touch of current robots, as well as their ability to manipulate target objects. We will see broad prospects for the application of biomimetic sensors.
