Dear sea friends, what type of hydrogen flow meter is used in your hydrogen production and hydrogen filling units? Mass flow meter? Rotary flow meter? Orifice plate? What type of flowmeter is used for interlocking? Is it accurate in practical use?
The measurement using an orifice plate isn’t as accurate as that of a mass flow meter, right? Are there any flow data involved in the interlock system?

Can it really be better than a mass flow meter? Is it feasible if this flow meter is used in the device’s SIS interlock?
The choice of flow meter depends on parameters such as measurement accuracy, the state of the hydrogen being transported, and flow rate, which need to be considered together. Although mass flow meters have high precision, they may not be suitable for process measurement due to high pressure losses and high costs. If the pressure is moderate (above 0.5 MPa), a vortex flow meter can be an excellent choice: it is not expensive, its measurement accuracy can reach 1%, and it causes little pressure loss. In addition, some vortex flow meters come with built-in pressure or temperature compensation, and they are also easy to maintain. The disadvantage of using orifice plates is their limited range, while rotameters have poor accuracy and require specific installation conditions. The selection of flow meters for industrial use should be based on the actual conditions of the application; there is no absolute rule stating which type is better or worse.
This is the one we use on site. Two out of three. Very stable. With just one mass flow meter, I’m afraid only one can be taken at a time in a chain process.
If three mass flow meters are used, then it can only be said that your company is very wealthy.
