This post was last edited by qugd on 2020-6-27 at 20:54. I think it is a built-in orifice plate type differential pressure transmitter, used for measuring low flow rates. This type of gauge comes out of the factory with the high and low pressure sides already fixed, and the orifice plate is located inside the transmitter; therefore, there may be no obvious markings on the body indicating the high and low pressure sides. Yokogawa Electric, Rosemount, and Yamatake/Honeywell all used to have such products.
The normal instruments will indicate this; if it’s not clear, check the flow direction of the measurement pipeline. Those who study instrumentation must master the process flow. When I used to deal with problems, I would first ask the process supervisor about the flow sequence. Over time, I learned which type of instrument is suitable for which kind of process environment. Additionally, it’s important to read more books and refer to relevant standards.
