According to the provisions in the \"Code for Design of Instrument Installation in Petrochemical Industries\" regarding the installation of vortex flowmeters, different installation methods and considerations are required depending on the type of medium being measured and the location of installation. Generally, the following rules apply: (1) When measuring liquids, the vortex flowmeter should be installed in a pipe that is completely filled with the medium being measured. (2) When installing a vortex flowmeter in a horizontally laid pipe, it is necessary to take into account the impact of the temperature of the medium on the measurement results, as well as its effect on the transmitter, since this can affect the accuracy of the final measurement results. (3) When installing a vortex flow meter in a vertical pipe, if the fluid being measured is gas, then the flow direction of the fluid can be arbitrary; if the fluid being measured is a liquid, then its flow direction should be from bottom to top. (4) Vortex flow meters should be installed in a stable location; it is best not to place them near sources of vibration, keeping them away from such areas. (5) When gas is expected to be present in the liquid to be measured, a degasser must be installed. (6) Vortex flowmeters should be installed in locations where the liquid will not vaporize. (7) The difference between the inner diameters of the straight sections before and after the vortex flow meter, and the inner diameter of the flow meter itself, should be less than 3%. (8) In areas where there is a risk of damaging the sensing elements, vortex flow meters installed in pipelines should be equipped with inlet and outlet stop valves as well as bypass valves; for plug-in vortex flow meters, cut-off ball valves should be installed.
