Fuses serve as an essential protection element for electrical devices, protecting them and facilitating maintenance. When a device malfunctions, the first thing to check is whether the fuse has blown. How can one determine whether a self-resetting fuse is good or not? What are the methods? Testing ordinary fuses is simple, while testing self-resetting fuses is more complex. (1) Visually, there is burning, and a burnt smell; it is immediately declared defective and needs to be exchanged. (2) Use the resistance setting (R mode) of the digital multimeter for testing; touch the red and black test leads to the two ends of the fuse being tested. If no response is detected, it indicates that the fuse is damaged and should be replaced immediately. (3) Replacement method or wiring method (use with caution): Replace it with a new fuse, or immediately connect one or two small copper wires between the two ends of the fuse to the power supply; if the household appliance operates normally, it can be determined that the previous fuse was damaged and should be replaced right away. (4) Consult the user instructions for the main parameters of home appliance products to determine the key parameters involved in the fully automatic fuse repair process: the standard operating current, the maximum operating voltage, and the maximum current during common faults, etc. (5) A high-power adjustable voltage regulator with a current output set to the standard operating current for fully automatic fuse repair is connected in series to the power circuit of a light bulb control circuit; if the light functions properly, then the fuse is also in good condition. (6) Set the operating voltage of the automatic recovery fuse using the output voltage of a high-power adjustable power supply. When replacing the fuse, please pay attention to its specifications. If the fuse is too large, it will not protect the appliance; if it is too small, it will affect the proper operation of the appliance.
