Data communication between the GDS system and the DCS system requires the use of corresponding communication cards for connection. Different GDS and DCS systems require different communication cards as well. For example, if communication is to be carried out using Honeywell’s GDS and DCS systems, Honeywell’s communication cards must be used for the connection. Therefore, when selecting a communication card, it is necessary to determine its compatibility based on the GDS and DCS systems being used. .
Generally, 485 is recommended for communication between different systems (DCS, SIS, CCS, GDS), and switches should not be shared among different systems.
Why can’t different systems share the same switch?

DCS, GDS, and SIS are configured independently of each other. A shared switch is not independent.
