There is an FC control valve, using a Siemens positioner; diesel entered the instrument inlet pipe, and the positioner as well as other accessories were also affected. After the diesel was initially cleaned and the power was turned on, the valve immediately went to its fully open position. However, the self-check process gets stuck at the first step; logically, since the valve can open, the locator should be able to send a signal. Why then can’t it even proceed to the first step? By the way, at this time the valve makes no movement while in self-check mode. I hope the experts can help determine where the fault lies in the device for the students. Thank you.
